I am reviewing the Regatta Napa 7 Mat - Pepper (which is a red self-inflating camping mat).
This is not the first self inflate camping mat I have purchased, and this one compares favourably to others. It inflates to around 7cm thick and is very comfortable to sleep on.
To inflate the mat you just undo a valve which sucks in air automatically. No power required. For best results, undo the valve several hours before you intend to use, as the mat takes a couple of hours to fully inflate. Tighten the valve to close before use.
To put the mat away, undo the valve, and roll the mat allowing the air to escape via the valve. This is an easy task for one adult however I imagine a child would struggle to put the mat away independently. The mat comes with two elastic bands to keep the mat rolled up, and a matching cover to protect the mat in transit.
The mat is fairly light weight, fine for an adult to carry but likely too heavy for a child. This product is not ideal for hardcore backpackers or hikers as there are much lighter products on the market however it is ideal for relaxed camping trips or use in the home as a spare bed.
The product is good quality and I recommend it.
