These are the Mountain Trainer Lite Gore-Tex hiking boots from the Salewa brand. They are perfectly suited for the mountains. They are designed to move faster and lighter on all terrains. They also present excellent on rocks. The highly abrasion-resistant, yet lightweight TPU-coated upper has suede inserts for stability and is paired with the GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort liner for durable waterproof protection while providing a very comfortable ride. The shoe has a mid-cut boot construction with 3F system that connects the instep, sole and heel for a comfortable, supportive and flexible fit. This is further supported by the shock-absorbing EVA midsole. For extra stability and protection there is a flexible ankle cuff, heel stabilizer and rubber toe cap. With climbing laces to the toe for finer tuning for more precision on technical terrain. Underfoot, the outsole guarantees reliable grip thanks to the Pomoca compound rubber and the tread pattern with deep sipes and grooves and the versatility to handle a wide range of terrain, from mud and grass to rocks, ice and snow.
Category B
These boots provide excellent support and can therefore be used for multi-day hikes. The trecking or hiking boots have a sole that is more rigid than in Category A and the shoes also feature a higher shaft, providing better support to the ankles. The hiking boots are suitable for mountainous terrains, but for the real mountains, the sole is too lenient.
