Item description

The Barcas from Hanwag is a comfortable and well-equipped low walking shoe that will protect your foot in many situations. This shoe has a top of nubuck leather and Cordura® textile, which will make the shoe feel supple and ensure that your foot is protected on the top. To protect your toes even more there is a protective rubber toecap. Gore-Tex material has been used to line the shoe, which ensures that your feet will stay dry during a rain shower but that moisture can be drained, so your feet will feel fresh for longer. The rubber outer sole ensures that shocks are absorbed well and that dirt does not stick between the profile.

Hanwag Size Guide

Hanwag works with specific shoe sizes. You can use our size guide below to determine the size you need. Note: The sizes and dimensions are simply indications and can sometimes differ. HANWAG makes use of specific shoe fittings, for example a Narrow fit, Wide fit, or Bunion fit. If a HANWAG shoe has been designed with a special fit, this is mentioned in the product title / description. If there is no mention of a specific type of fit, then you can assume that the shoe in question has a standard / average fit. HANWAG Narrow fit is suitable for those with a smaller foot width, HANWAG Wide fit is suitable for those with a larger foot width, and HANWAG Bunion fit is suitable for people whose big toe is crooked and bends towards their other toes (Hallux Valgus). When trekking and hiking, it's of vital importance that your footwear fits properly and comfortably. Your heel needs to sit securely in the back and your toes need to have enough room in the front. You can test this by putting the shoes on without tying up the laces. If it seems that there is a bit too much room at the sides or that it's a bit loose, then the heel is too wide for your feet. A top tip for checking if a shoe is the right size for you is seeing whether there is enough space for you to fit your finger between the tip of the shoe and your toes. If there is not enough space, then the shoe is too large; it's important to have this space so as to prevent your toes hitting the shoe when walking downhill.
