Walking Boots Hanwag Alaska 4HT GTX Brown
Item description
Hanwag's Alaska 4HT is a comfortable and versatile shoe that provides good support while hiking. This shoe has a leather top and has been designed in such a way that almost no seams are used for the construction, because seams will rub during long walks, so this is prevented as much as possible. Thanks to the high shaft of this shoe, the ankle is also well supported and so you have optimal protection. Gore-Tex material is used for the lining of this shoe and this ensures that water cannot enter the shoe, but allows moisture to be removed. This way your feet will stay protected against moisture yet will not feel clammy. The rubber outer sole of this shoe provides good grip and excellent cushioning for a comfortable hike. The sole is designed to keep you more stable. In addition, the profile is made in such a way that dirt will not get stuck in the grooves.
Hanwag Size Guide
Hanwag works with specific shoe sizes. You can use our size guide below to determine the size you need. Note: The sizes and dimensions are simply indications and can sometimes differ. HANWAG makes use of specific shoe fittings, for example a Narrow fit, Wide fit, or Bunion fit. If a HANWAG shoe has been designed with a special fit, this is mentioned in the product title / description. If there is no mention of a specific type of fit, then you can assume that the shoe in question has a standard / average fit. HANWAG Narrow fit is suitable for those with a smaller foot width, HANWAG Wide fit is suitable for those with a larger foot width, and HANWAG Bunion fit is suitable for people whose big toe is crooked and bends towards their other toes (Hallux Valgus). When trekking and hiking, it's of vital importance that your footwear fits properly and comfortably. Your heel needs to sit securely in the back and your toes need to have enough room in the front. You can test this by putting the shoes on without tying up the laces. If it seems that there is a bit too much room at the sides or that it's a bit loose, then the heel is too wide for your feet. A top tip for checking if a shoe is the right size for you is seeing whether there is enough space for you to fit your finger between the tip of the shoe and your toes. If there is not enough space, then the shoe is too large; it's important to have this space so as to prevent your toes hitting the shoe when walking downhill.
