Item description

This technical Fjäll Extreme GTX hiking shoe is designed for demanding winter hiking and snowshoeing. The hiking boot is suitable for difficult alpine trips through snow and ice and is compatible for use with crampons. The hiking boot comes in handy in the most extreme weather conditions, in temperatures as low as -40 ° C! The hiking shoe has a removable thermal inner boot with a breathable fabric upper layer and an insulating aluminium layer with thermal foam and fleece. This way your feet stay nice and warm. The outsole offers a lot of grip and the rubber heel is protective, just like a safety toe. The rear loop on the shoe makes it easy to pull on and take off the boots, and the fit is very comfortable. In short, the perfect shoe if you are looking for a hiking shoe for extreme conditions!

Hanwag Size Guide

Hanwag works with specific shoe sizes. You can use our size guide below to determine the size you need. Note: The sizes and dimensions are simply indications and can sometimes differ. HANWAG makes use of specific shoe fittings, for example a Narrow fit, Wide fit, or Bunion fit. If a HANWAG shoe has been designed with a special fit, this is mentioned in the product title / description. If there is no mention of a specific type of fit, then you can assume that the shoe in question has a standard / average fit. HANWAG Narrow fit is suitable for those with a smaller foot width, HANWAG Wide fit is suitable for those with a larger foot width, and HANWAG Bunion fit is suitable for people whose big toe is crooked and bends towards their other toes (Hallux Valgus). When trekking and hiking, it's of vital importance that your footwear fits properly and comfortably. Your heel needs to sit securely in the back and your toes need to have enough room in the front. You can test this by putting the shoes on without tying up the laces. If it seems that there is a bit too much room at the sides or that it's a bit loose, then the heel is too wide for your feet. A top tip for checking if a shoe is the right size for you is seeing whether there is enough space for you to fit your finger between the tip of the shoe and your toes. If there is not enough space, then the shoe is too large; it's important to have this space so as to prevent your toes hitting the shoe when walking downhill.
