Walking Boots Hanwag Alaska GTX Black
Item description
Hanwag's Alaska walking boot is a comfortable and versatile shoe that keeps getting better as the terrain becomes more inhospitable. This shoe has a leather top with as few seams as possible. This is because seams can cause irritation, so the fewer the better! Thanks to the high shaft of this shoe, the ankle is also well supported so that you have optimal protection. Gore-Tex® material is used for the lining of this shoe, which ensures that water cannot enter the shoe, but allows moisture to be removed. This way your feet will stay protected against moisture and will not feel clammy. The rubber outer sole of this shoe provides great grip and excellent cushioning on very uneven terrain. To offer optimal grip while climbing or going downhill, a section of the studs on the sole are placed at an angle.
Hanwag Size Guide
Hanwag works with specific shoe sizes. You can use our size guide below to determine the size you need. Note: The sizes and dimensions are simply indications and can sometimes differ. HANWAG makes use of specific shoe fittings, for example a Narrow fit, Wide fit, or Bunion fit. If a HANWAG shoe has been designed with a special fit, this is mentioned in the product title / description. If there is no mention of a specific type of fit, then you can assume that the shoe in question has a standard / average fit. HANWAG Narrow fit is suitable for those with a smaller foot width, HANWAG Wide fit is suitable for those with a larger foot width, and HANWAG Bunion fit is suitable for people whose big toe is crooked and bends towards their other toes (Hallux Valgus). When trekking and hiking, it's of vital importance that your footwear fits properly and comfortably. Your heel needs to sit securely in the back and your toes need to have enough room in the front. You can test this by putting the shoes on without tying up the laces. If it seems that there is a bit too much room at the sides or that it's a bit loose, then the heel is too wide for your feet. A top tip for checking if a shoe is the right size for you is seeing whether there is enough space for you to fit your finger between the tip of the shoe and your toes. If there is not enough space, then the shoe is too large; it's important to have this space so as to prevent your toes hitting the shoe when walking downhill.
