Product Care

Sleeping bag maintenance

It is best to store your sleeping bag in a dry and dark place, ensuring that the sleeping bag can not be affected by damp and moisture. To keep the sleeping bag fresh and prevent mustiness, It is also important that the it is regularly aired, even when not in use.

Make sure the sleeping bag is stored in a larger bag as it is not recommended to store the sleeping bag in the compression sleeve. The compression sleeve can reduce the resilience of the filling, which in turns lowers the insulation properties of the sleeping bag.

Washing your sleeping bag

The sleeping bags from Nomad can easily be washed in the washing machine. Please take note of the washing instructions and follow carefully, due to different sleeping bag models containing different fillings.

Sleeping bag with synthetic filling: Should never be dry-cleaned and should be washed on a shortened wash program. Use only 1 / 3rd of the amount of detergent you normally use.

Sleeping bag with feather filling: Should never be dry-cleaned and should be washed on a shortened wash program. Use a special detergent for down and avoid fabric softener.

Sleeping mat maintenance

Keep the sleeping mat in a dry and dark place, making sure that the valve is fully opened. The open valve ensures that the sleeping mat will retain the spring force the next time you use it.

Is your sleeping mat punctured? Don't worry, it is easy to repair. This can be done by filling the sleeping mat with air, closing the valve, then submerge it in water to find the hole. You can use the repair bag to find the right colour fabric and the suitable adhesive. Let the sleeping mat dry for at least another 2 hours after sealing.

Rucksack maintenance

Has your rucksack become muddy or dirty? Then let the dirt dry properly before you try to get rid of it. After drying, you simply wipe away the mud with a brush. Grease stains are best treated with lukewarm water or soap and a soft sponge. After cleaning you can best dry the rucksack at room temperature. Avoid the direct sun or a heat source such as a radiator or heater.

Note: never wash your rucksack or bag in the washing machine. This affects the coating and can damage the bag.

Nomad Technology

3D Polardown®

Nomad has developed a special filling for sleeping bags that combines down filling with a synthetic filling. This special filling, called 3D Polardown®, consists of both a fibre treated with a hydrophobic treatment, and a 3D synthetic hollow fibre. This combination ensures that the filling of the sleeping bag is perfectly insulated, so you never have to be afraid of cold spots again. The filling is also lightweight, soft, flexible, and strong. In short, the ideal combination!

Drirelease®

The Nomad Drirelease® technology efficiently removes moisture and perspiration away from the skin and pushes it to the exterior of the fabric, where the moisture can quickly evaporate. This environmentally friendly solution ensures that you always keep dry, cool, fresh, and comfortable. The Drirelease® technology consists of a patented blend of 85-90% synthetic, hydrophobic (water repelling) fibres and 10-15% natural, hydrophilic (water absorbing) fibres.

Polygiene®

Polygiene® is also a technology that Nomad uses for sleeping bags. Polygiene® is a special treatment that is applied to the finishing of the sleeping bags, which ensures that the growth of fragrant bacteria or fungi is prevented. Polygiene® uses low concentrations of silver salt. Silver salt contains antimicrobial properties and is naturally present in the water and the soil, meaning bacteria and fungi are eliminated safely
